Southern Cross Hospitals announces new name

In recent years, Southern Cross Hospitals has made advancements into early health and wellbeing intervention and supported recovery, and the time is now right for our name to reflect the full scope of how we care for New Zealanders.

People know us as Southern Cross Hospitals but, from 30 November, we’ll be known as Southern Cross Healthcare.

This new name reflects how our care for New Zealanders now extends beyond our hospitals to include a more comprehensive range of quality healthcare services.

We’ll continue to provide the quality care in our network of hospitals that we’ve always been known for but through joint venture partnership we now also look after New Zealanders when it comes to community-based physiotherapy, rehabilitation and workplace wellbeing. This enables us to care for more people, more often.

We are New Zealand’s largest independent healthcare network and we’re committed to advancing the health and wellness of New Zealanders through innovation.

As a not-for-profit organisation, we’re proud to put New Zealanders first. Changing our name to Southern Cross Healthcare is reinforcement of our commitment to do all we can do to support the health of people all around New Zealand.
