Southern Cross Wellington Hospital is a modern private surgical facility with integrated specialist consulting services. It includes five operating theatres, day procedure units, advanced diagnostics, and an intensive care unit—enabling care for a wide range of patients, including those undergoing complex elective surgeries. The hospital offers a broad spectrum of clinical services, including Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Colorectal surgery, Gynaecology, Neurophysiology, Ophthalmology, Oncology, and Urology. Established in 1992, the hospital has undergone significant upgrades and is currently expanding to increase surgical capacity and broaden its healthcare offerings in the Wellington region.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

As our Administration Support, you’ll be at the heart of the specialist centre — the friendly, professional first point of contact for patients. From coordinating appointments and managing sensitive patient information to ensuring accounts are processed accurately and clinics run smoothly, you’ll play a vital role in keeping everything operating seamlessly. Your attention to detail and warm communication will help create a positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

You’ll support the specialist centre team by managing consultant’s clinics, along with associated documentation and billing, and assisting with day-to-day operations. You’ll work closely with colleagues and specialists to ensure a smooth flow of information and a consistently high standard of service. Every day brings variety. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on organisation, teamwork, and making a real difference in people’s healthcare experiences. You’ll be part of a collaborative hospital environment that values excellence, professionalism, and care — while proudly representing Southern Cross Healthcare within the community.

  • A sharp eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy in everything you do
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities seamlessly
  • Previous experience in healthcare or medical administration (a definite plus!)
  • A relevant tertiary qualification — with healthcare management credentials highly regarded
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office Suite and digital tools to stay efficient and connected
