Originally established in 1992, the hospital currently includes day procedure facilities, five operating theatres and a modern intensive care unit. Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our perioperative team in a 0.8–1.0 FTE role. This position offers the chance to work across a variety of surgical specialties in a modern theatre environment, where patient safety and excellence are at the heart of everything we do.

Reporting to the Theatre Services Manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality care throughout the surgical journey. From preparing patients and equipment to assisting during procedures and supporting recovery, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring smooth theatre operations and exceptional patient outcomes.

You’ll work alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team in a collaborative, fast-paced setting. Your ability to stay calm under pressure, communicate effectively, and maintain a strong focus on detail will be key to your success.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • Current New Zealand Registered Nurse practising certificate 
  • Minimum of two years’ perioperative nursing experience, ideally in Operating Theatre
  • Ability to work confidently across multiple surgical specialties and adapt to changing theatre lists
  • Strong clinical skills in patient preparation, intraoperative assistance, and post-operative care
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude 
  • Previous experience in private healthcare is an advantage
