Our elective surgery services are available throughout New Zealand at our ten wholly owned hospitals and seven joint venture partnerships. In our 2025 financial year, we looked after more than 118,000 patients at our hospitals and
endoscopy clinics.

Southern Cross hospitals have modern, well-equipped operating theatres and procedure rooms, and comfortable patient facilities. They boast a range of advanced clinical technologies, with many offering options such as higher dependency nursing, specialist consulting suites, and on-site imaging and diagnostic technologies.

Over 1,200 surgeons and anaesthetists use Southern Cross Healthcare facilities in private practice. While we don’t employ doctors directly, all independent medical specialists must complete our comprehensive credentialling process before they can admit their patients to one of our hospitals. We then work with our credentialled practitioners to further develop our healthcare services.
