Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

Southern Cross North Harbour Hospital is looking for a confident and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Peri-Anaesthesia team, where you will play a vital role in supporting patients throughout their surgical journey. This includes preparing patients for surgery, monitoring their recovery from anaesthesia, and ensuring they are safe and well-informed at discharge. You will work across Admissions, PACU, and Day Stay units, adapting to operational needs to deliver seamless, patient-centred care.

There are two positions available, offering either part-time or full-time hours between 0.5 - 1.0 FTE. You will be part of a collaborative and multidisciplinary team, working closely with patients, whānau, medical specialists, and fellow nursing professionals to ensure high-quality outcomes. Your ability to manage change, use technology confidently, and communicate effectively will be key to your success in this role.

You will start in January 2026, following our return from the Christmas break—an ideal time to begin fresh in a supportive and dynamic environment.

In addition to delivering safe and culturally responsive care, you’ll contribute to staff orientation, maintain accurate documentation, and support continuous improvement initiatives. A strong commitment to health and safety, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, diversity and inclusion, and sustainable practices is essential, as these values are embedded in our everyday work.
