Supply Chain Coordinator

Southern Cross Gillies Hospital

Southern Cross’ Gillies Hospital based in Epsom, has been designed with a focus on short stay surgery and family-centred care, with four theatres, a purpose-built day-stay facility and 20 in-patient beds with ensuite facilities. As a centre of expertise for both head and neck surgery and Otolaryngology (ENT), Gillies offers oral and Maxillofacial, Gynaecological, Plastic, and Reconstructive and General Paediatric surgery. It is backed up by friendly, highly professional nursing teams and systems designed to support patients of all ages.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

Join Southern Cross Gillies Hospital as our Supply Chain Coordinator and play a hands-on role in keeping our hospital moving. This is a role where precision, pace, and people come together! You will ensure critical supplies are accurately received, scanned, stored, and delivered to where they’re needed most.

This isn’t just about inventory; it’s about supporting patient care behind the scenes. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day flow of stock across the hospital. Using RF scanners and barcode systems, you’ll ensure accuracy at every step while proactively identifying discrepancies and resolving issues before they impact operations.

You’ll work closely with the Supply Chain Manager and clinical teams, navigating a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly. Your ability to stay calm under pressure, build strong relationships, and problem solve will be key to your success. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement, whether that’s refining processes, improving stock accuracy, or supporting better data visibility through reporting and system use.

This is a permanent, part-time role at 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week), based at Southern Cross Gillies Hospital.

  • Strong familiarity with inventory processes such as cycle counting and stock control
  • Solid attention to detail, with the ability to spot discrepancies and missing items quickly
  • Good physical capability, including regular lifting and movement of stock
  • Intermediate level experience with systems and technology, including Excel (formulas, basic reporting, pivot tables)
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships in a fast-paced environment
  • A recognised qualification in Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Logistics, or a related Inventory control discipline is desired but not essential
  • APICS certification or similar professional accreditation would be an advantage.
