Southern Cross’ Gillies Hospital based in Epsom, has been designed with a focus on short stay surgery and family-centred care, with four theatres, a purpose-built day-stay facility and 20 in-patient beds with ensuite facilities. 

As a centre of expertise for both head and neck surgery and Otolaryngology (ENT), Gillies offers oral and Maxillofacial, Gynaecological, Plastic, and Reconstructive and General Paediatric surgery. It is backed up by friendly, highly professional nursing teams and systems designed to support patients of all ages.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

Join Southern Cross Gillies Hospital as our Supply Chain Coordinator and be the linchpin that keeps our hospital running seamlessly. From managing stock and master data to ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time, your work will directly support patient care and the smooth operation of our teams. You’ll have the chance to influence efficiency, streamline processes, and contribute to continuous improvement in a fast-paced, rewarding healthcare environment.

In this hands-on role, you’ll work closely with the Supply Chain Manager and wider hospital teams to prevent stock shortages, resolve issues, and optimise inventory flow. From stock counts to data management, problem-solving, and process improvements, your proactive mindset and attention to detail will make you a key part of our behind-the-scenes success.

This is a permanent role at 0.8 FTE (32 hours p/w), based at Southern Cross Gillies Hospital.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in an inventory, supply chain, or warehousing environment, where accuracy and pace really matter.
  • Hands-on experience using ERP systems to manage inventory, replenishment, and data with confidence.
  • A sharp eye for detail, combined with the ability to see the bigger picture.
  • Thrive on problem-solving and getting to the bottom of inventory variances.
  • A practical, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset — you’re happy to jump in and get the work done.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong inventory control expertise — healthcare experience is a bonus, but not essential.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, with the ability to work comfortably with data and reporting.
  • A recognised qualification in Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Logistics, or a related Inventory control discipline is desired but not essential.
  • APICS certification or similar professional accreditation would be an advantage.
