Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

Southern Cross Christchurch Hospital has a great opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Theatre team, with 0.8 - 1.0 FTE available for the right candidate. Here, you won’t just be working in any theatre - you’ll be at the forefront of cutting-edge surgery in one of the country’s most advanced digital operating environments.

With ten fully digital operating theatres and a dedicated robotic surgery team, you’ll support procedures that are transforming patient outcomes, from complex orthopaedic, spinal and neurosurgical robotics to advanced digital scanning technologies. You’ll become part of a team delivering some of the most technically complex and rewarding work in the South Island, including primary and complex joint replacements (hips, knees, shoulders), high-volume elective caseloads as well as sports orthopaedics, acute injury repair and many more.

As a Registered Nurse in our theatres, you’ll be at the heart of delivering exceptional perioperative care – combining your clinical expertise, critical thinking, and adaptability to make a real impact. You’ll work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and colleagues to deliver safe, innovative, evidence-based care, while leading by example to foster a culture of collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement. This is your chance to be part of a hospital that doesn’t just adopt new technology, it leads the way in shaping the future of healthcare in Aotearoa.
