Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
Are you a highly organised, proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment? As the Personal Assistant to the General Manager, you’ll be at the centre of everything - providing seamless, high-level executive support and helping to keep the day running smoothly, efficiently, and ahead of pace. You’ll expertly manage a dynamic and ever-changing diary, anticipate priorities, and ensure the GM is always prepared and positioned for success. Acting as a key liaison across the business, you’ll build strong relationships with internal teams, senior leaders and external stakeholders, while also supporting the GM’s direct reports when needed. From managing communications and monitoring incoming emails to preparing polished reports, presentations, and SLT members with business planning, your ability to stay one step ahead and deliver with precision will be essential.
Beyond the day-to-day, you’ll play a vital role in supporting hospital-wide initiatives and ad-hoc projects, bringing organisation, structure, and momentum to everything you touch. You’ll coordinate travel, manage action logs, and ensure follow-ups are executed, while also handling sensitive matters such as credit card reconciliation and initial complaint escalation with professionalism and discretion. Whether it’s working alongside the National Support Office or improving processes and supplier outcomes, you’ll thrive on variety and responsibility. This is a role for someone who is proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused - someone who takes pride in delivering excellence and making a genuine impact at a senior leadership level. You’ll have warmth, charisma, and an easy way of building rapport with a wide range of personalities, along with a willingness to learn, adapt, and grow as part of a supportive team. This is a full-time permanent term position based in our Brightside Hospital.
