 HS&W Business Partner (Property Portfolio)

National Support Office, Auckland

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

As our HS&W Business Partner – Property Portfolio, you will play a pivotal role in shaping safer, smarter, and more resilient healthcare environments across Southern Cross Healthcare. Partnering closely with Property, Facilities, and operational leaders, you’ll help embed best-practice health, safety, and wellbeing principles across the full facility lifecycle, from planning and design through to construction, operational delivery, and continuous improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to influence meaningful change across a nationally recognised healthcare network, ensuring our hospitals and facilities remain safe, compliant, and fit-for-purpose for both our people and patients.

In this dynamic and highly collaborative role, you’ll lead the integration of “Safety in Design” principles into capital projects and refurbishment programmes, provide expert guidance on contractor and PCBU coordination, and support the safe operation of facilities, infrastructure, plant, and critical systems. You’ll work alongside leaders to identify and manage critical risks, strengthen emergency preparedness capability, improve contractor performance, and ensure our physical environments support exceptional healthcare outcomes. From influencing project design decisions to supporting operational teams with risk management and assurance activities, no two days will be the same.

You’ll also play a key role in building organisational capability and fostering a proactive, risk-aware culture across our healthcare facilities. By supporting investigations, monitoring emerging risks and trends, strengthening critical control verification, and driving continuous improvement initiatives, you’ll help ensure health and safety remains embedded in everything we do. This role is ideal for a commercially minded HS&W professional who enjoys balancing strategic influence with practical, hands-on partnering in complex operational environments. This is a full-time permanent position based in our National Support Office in Auckland CBD.
