HS&W Business Partner (Systems Portfolio)

National Support Office, Auckland

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

As our HS&W Business Partner – Systems Portfolio, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening the future of health, safety and wellbeing across Southern Cross Healthcare. This is an exciting opportunity for a systems-minded safety professional who is passionate about driving meaningful organisational improvement through smarter frameworks, data-driven insights, governance excellence, and continuous learning. You'll take the lead in shaping and evolving our HS&W management systems, ensuring they remain practical, future-focused, and fit for purpose. By understanding the difference between work as imagined and work as done, you'll drive meaningful improvements that enhance both safety outcomes and operational effectiveness. Working closely with leaders across our hospitals and National Support Office, you’ll empower teams with the tools, frameworks, and insights needed to effectively manage risk, strengthen assurance activities, and foster a proactive safety culture where people feel supported, informed, and confident to speak up.

In this influential role, you’ll help embed consistent and effective HS&W systems and practices such as Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) across the organisation while driving organisational learning and continuous improvement. From supporting critical risk and psychosocial risk frameworks, to enhancing reporting dashboards, assurance programmes, audits, and incident learning processes, you’ll play a key role in translating data and insights into practical actions that improve outcomes for our people and patients. You’ll also partner with operational leaders, HS&W professionals, and enabling functions to build capability, strengthen system maturity, and ensure safety and wellbeing remains at the heart of everything we do. If you thrive on collaboration, enjoy balancing strategy with hands-on delivery, and want to make a genuine impact within one of New Zealand’s leading healthcare organisations, we’d love to hear from you.

This is a full-time permanent position based in our National Support Office in Auckland CBD.
