Southern Cross North Harbour Hospital is the only private surgical in-patient hospital on the Auckland’s North Shore. North Harbour Hospital has 8 Operating Rooms, a 14 bed Post Anaesthetic Care Unit, a modern well-equipped day stay facility unit and a 70-bed ward which includes a 4-bed intermediate care facility (ICF). 

Surgical specialities include General Surgery, Gynaecology, Oral & Maxillofacial surgery, Urology, Orthopaedic surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, Urology, Otolaryngology and Robotic Surgery.  

In addition to the hospital, the broader North Shore campus is also home to a purpose-built endoscopy suite, on-site cardiology services, cancer care, pharmacy, sports medicine, radiology and more.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

Southern Cross North Harbour Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Leader to join their dynamic, professional, and highly motivated team on the ward. 

We have a permanent 0.9 FTE Clinical Nurse Leader position available working rostered shifts within a rotating schedule. You will be working with an experienced team of Clinical Nurse Leaders and as such we require a “positive, can-do attitude”, have excellent management and communication skills, have an optimistic perspective and be adaptable and responsive to the changing needs of the business.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • To be a NZ registered Nurse with a current Practicing Certificate applicable to working in a surgical setting
  • Recent 5 years of relevant, post graduate experience in a surgical setting with experience in a leadership role.
  • At least a current level four (expert) PDRP
  • Proven ability of being able to work cooperatively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with patient, staff, and other health care professional.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage staff and resource allocation efficiently.
  • Advanced clinical knowledge and assessment skills in a surgical setting
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee clinical and operational issues affecting the ward.
