Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

This role is a member of our Hospital Senior Leadership Team and will lead and drive improvement and innovation initiatives and projects to ensure a high-quality patient experience and a safe workplace with thriving, highly engaged team members.

Leading the Health, Safety & Wellbeing, Learning & Development, Quality and Risk, and Infection Prevention and Control functions within our hospital, this role will have a strong people focus underpinned by the establishment and evolution of a robust set of systems. 

They will collaborate closely with the General Manager, Clinical Operations Manager, and hospital leadership team to ensure the integration of quality, safety and risk systems, plans, and compliance practices into the SCH operating model and culture.  So influencing with positive enthusiasm will be a core capability of the successful candidate. 

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • Five years’ recent experience in a leadership role (preferably in healthcare) with the ability to lead highly engaged teams focused on service delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in safety, quality and risk management and improvement.
  • An expert communicator, adept at crafting messages that are clear, concise and engaging.
  • Excellent relationship management skills and an understanding of how to truly partner with other functions to ensure delivery of business objectives.
  • A master of data with proven experience preparing reports that deliver insights and drive improved decision making.
  • Highly tech savvy with the ability to pick up new systems and implement improvements.
  • Thrives in fast paced, ambiguous environments where managing change is the norm. 
  • Continuous improvement focused with the ability to bring teams along on a change journey. 
  • A positive, highly energised, tenacious individual that enjoys working in a kind, people focused culture.
