Anaesthetic Team Leader 

Southern Cross Hamilton Hospital is a well-equipped private surgical hospital based in central Hamilton, proudly providing a wide range of surgical specialties to the wider Waikato community for many years.

Our hospital has been extensively expanded and upgraded and now incorporates seven fully equipped operating theatres, 60 inpatient beds and a purpose-built Day Surgery Unit. We offer a range of specialties, including orthopaedics, gynaecology, ophthalmology, neurosurgery, spine, ENT, and general surgery specialties. 

Comfortable facilities, combined with the very latest in technology and on-site support services, enable independent credentialled medical practitioners to undertake a wide range of procedures. These include routine investigations to complex surgery, with their expertise supported by caring, professional nursing teams.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Anaesthetic Technician Team Leader who will be responsible for the effective operational management of the anaesthetic team. The successful candidate with have excellent interpersonal skills and will be able to communicate with their team and the wider hospital effectively.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • Minimum 5 years' Anaesthetic Technician/RN AA experience in Operating Theatres
  • Minimum 2 years' experience at a senior level, including supervision of staff
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Effective adult teaching skills
  • Excellent crisis management skills
  • Knowledge of computer systems to an intermediate level
