Clinical Nurse Leader - Endoscopy
Southern Cross Hamilton Hospital is a well-equipped private surgical hospital based in central Hamilton, proudly providing a wide range of surgical specialties to the wider Waikato community for many years.
Our hospital has been extensively expanded and upgraded and now incorporates seven fully equipped operating theatres, 60 inpatient beds and a purpose-built Day Surgery Unit. We offer a range of specialties, including orthopaedics, gynaecology, ophthalmology, neurosurgery, spine, ENT, and general surgery specialties.
Comfortable facilities, combined with the very latest in technology and on-site support services, enable independent credentialled medical practitioners to undertake a wide range of procedures. These include routine investigations to complex surgery, with their expertise supported by caring, professional nursing teams.
Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
We currently have a Clinical Nurse Lead position that will suit an experienced team leader who will inspire our team in their drive for excellence in the provision of quality endoscopic care here at Southern Cross Hospital Hamilton. The current vacancy is part of a new initiative to streamline our Endoscopy service and sits within the overall Perioperative services team. Ideally you will be an experienced theatre/endoscopy nurse with good interpersonal skills.
This role is part time (0.6FTE) with the potential of full-time hours for the right candidate.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- A current NZ practising certificate
- Extensive endoscopic experience with knowledge of GENCA guidelines/standards
- Expert level 4 PDRP or equivalent, or working towards a level 4
- 5 years' post-registration experience with a minimum of 3 years working in theatre or endoscopy suite
- Proven leadership experience in a nursing leadership role e.g., Shift Co-ordinator, Team Leader, roles that provide direction and delegation, people management etc
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proactive positive attitude
- Actively promotes culturally safe clinical practice and the integration of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi into the provision of patient care
- Post graduate qualifications in health care desirable
