Housekeeper
Southern Cross North Harbour Hospital is the only private surgical in-patient hospital on the Auckland’s North Shore. North Harbour Hospital has 8 Operating Rooms, a 14 bed Post Anaesthetic Care Unit, a modern well-equipped day stay facility unit and a 70-bed ward which includes a 4 bed intermediate care facility (ICF).
Surgical specialities include General Surgery, Gynaecology, Oral & Maxillofacial surgery, Urology, Orthopaedic surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, Urology, Otolaryngology and Robotic Surgery.
In addition to the hospital, the broader North Shore campus is also home to a purpose-built endoscopy suite, on-site cardiology services, cancer care, pharmacy, sports medicine, radiology and more.
Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and reliable housekeeper to join our team at Southern Cross North Harbour Hospital. We have a 0.5-0.7 FTE role available, working rostered shifts from Monday to Sunday, under the direction and delegation of the ward manager and clinical nurse leaders.
The successful candidate will be responsible to provide personalised and safe meal services to patients, maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the ward pantry, ensure a safe and welcoming atmosphere for patients, visitors, and staff.

- Previous experience in housekeeping, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Current food handling certificate would be preferable.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting meal trays and pushing of meal trolleys.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be a team player with a committed and professional approach.
- Interact with patients ensuring they are supported with their dietary needs where possible.
- Ability to maintain a safe environment for yourself and others.
