Programme/Project Practice Lead
Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Programme/Project Practice Lead to develop the programme management practice within our Digital Services team.
This role will ensure that programme and project management methodologies, frameworks, and standards are consistently applied across all projects to deliver high-quality results, on time, and within scope and budget. By driving the development of a practice development plan, the Programme/Project Practice Lead will ensure that the project management function remains responsive to changes in both internal and external environments.
This role will also oversee a team of project managers and coordinators, ensuring that they are well-equipped to deliver complex initiatives that align with our strategic goals.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience in programme/project management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role managing a team of project managers and coordinators.
- Proven experience in establishing and managing programme/project management frameworks, standards, and methodologies in a complex organisational environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead end-to-end project delivery, including managing multiple projects and programmes simultaneously, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Strong experience in resource management, including the effective allocation of resources across projects to meet both business-as-usual and project-based needs.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management, particularly in communicating project performance, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership and business stakeholders.
- Experience in continuous improvement, refining and evolving project management practices to align with emerging trends and best practices.
- Professional certification in project or programme management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP), is highly desirable.
