We have a unique and exciting opportunity for a Sterile Servies Team Leader to join our Southern Cross Central Lakes Hospital in Queenstown.

This opportunity presents a rare mix of working in a new, vibrant, growing hospital, whilst living in one of the most stunning locations in New Zealand along with its incredible lifestyle.

Southern Cross Central Lakes Hospital (SCCLH) received its first patients in January 2022, and has steadily developed a broad range of specialty surgery covering both private and public patients. The joint venture ownership between Southern Cross Healthcare and Central Lakes Trust ensures leading clinical service delivery whilst maintaining a genuine focus to provide healthcare services closer to home for general population of Central Otago.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Services professional to provide direction and support to our Sterile Services Team. As the Team Leader, you will work alongside the Sterile Services team members to foster good relationships and ensure efficient service delivery. You will be responsible for providing ongoing education, performance reviews and assessment of practice as well as participating in the standard tasks of the Sterile Services team. 

You will report directly into our Theatre Services Manager. 

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • Level 4 Sterilising course or the equivalent international qualification and the willingness to complete the Level 5 qualification 
  • 5 years of proven experience working in a Sterilising Department 
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Quality assurance/control knowledge 
  • Competent computer skills specifically in MS Windows 
  • Knowledge of mechanical operation of various types of sterilising equipment
  • Knowledge of Infection Prevention & Control guidelines and policies
  • Loan coordinator experience would be desirable
