Theatre Coordinator
Southern Cross Invercargill Hospital is the southernmost private surgical hospital in the Southern Cross Healthcare network, it is widely known and used by people throughout the Southland and Queenstown-Wakatipu basin areas.
The hospital features advanced theatre systems, including robotic orthopaedic surgery. Our highly skilled and caring team provide excellent care to 4,200 patients per year. Our elective surgical services include breast; endoscopy and gastroenterology; general; gynaecology; ophthalmology; oral and maxillofacial; orthopaedic; ear nose and throat; and urology surgery.
Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
We are seeking a Theatre Coordinator to support the smooth operation of our Theatre Department. In this role, you will collaborate with the Theatre Services Manager to ensure the department runs effectively, while overseeing clinical leadership tasks, business operations, relationship management, and ensuring safety, quality, and risk management standards are met. This is a 0.7 FTE Fixed-Term position, for a period of 8 months to cover parental leave.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand Nursing Council Annual Practicing Certificate or other relevant Registered Health Professional with a current competency-based Practicing Certificate
- Post graduate diploma or evidence of ongoing education relative to practice/position
- Operating Theatre experience >5 years
- Previous leadership/management experience
- Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate surgical booking processes and manage teams/staff
- Excellent communication skills and be a team player
- To be flexible/adaptable and to respond positively to the changing needs of the business
