Business Development Manager

Hamilton or Rotorua

Grow partnerships. Shape healthcare. Make a real difference.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

As our Business Development Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in driving the future growth of Southern Cross Healthcare, building strong partnerships that expand our specialist network and strengthen the clinical and commercial success of our hospitals. This is a unique opportunity for someone with a deep understanding of New Zealand's private healthcare sector who thrives on building trusted relationships with specialists, funders, and healthcare leaders. Working closely with General Managers, Hospital CEOs, and key stakeholders, you'll identify new growth opportunities, attract high-value specialists, develop innovative clinical pathways, and help shape the future of private healthcare across New Zealand.

From growing specialist market share and supporting the success of private practices to leading strategic commercial initiatives and strengthening funder partnerships, you'll have a direct impact on both patient outcomes and business performance. You'll oversee the specialist journey from initial engagement through to long-term retention, deliver networking and education events that enhance Southern Cross Healthcare's profile, leverage CRM insights and performance data to identify new opportunities, and collaborate across the business to maximise theatre utilisation, optimise revenue, and ensure our hospitals remain the destination of choice for specialists and patients alike. This is a full-time permanent position based in either Rotorua or Hamilton.
