 Business Development Manager

National Support Office - Auckland

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

As our Business Development Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future growth of Southern Cross Healthcare. Sitting at the heart of our commercial strategy, you'll build and strengthen relationships with specialists, hospital leaders, and funder partners to expand our specialist network and drive the clinical and commercial success of our hospitals. This is a unique opportunity for someone who understands the New Zealand private healthcare landscape and is passionate about creating long-term partnerships that deliver outstanding outcomes for patients, specialists, and our organisation.

Working closely with General Managers, Hospital CEOs, and key stakeholders, you'll identify and attract high-value specialists, develop innovative clinical and commercial pathways, and help bring national strategies to life at a local level. You'll lead specialist engagement from first conversation through to onboarding and long-term retention, while supporting succession planning, strengthening referral networks, and creating opportunities that grow market share and optimise hospital performance.

No two days will be the same. From collaborating with funder partners on new models of care and commercial initiatives, to delivering specialist education and networking events, analysing performance data, and uncovering opportunities to maximise theatre utilisation and revenue, you'll play a key role in driving sustainable growth. You'll use data, insights, and relationship-building expertise to influence decision-making, elevate Southern Cross Healthcare's profile, and ensure we're the private healthcare partner of choice for specialists across New Zealand. This is a full-time permanent position based at our National Support Office in the Auckland CBD.
