Southern Cross Brightside Hospital in Epsom, Auckland has 33 in-patient beds and 6 day-stay chairs. Surgical specialities include Orthopaedics, Urology, Gynaecology, General Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Otolaryngology.

Our hospital features an intermediate care facility, a specialised post-operative ward for patients with medical conditions or surgical issues that require an enhanced level of monitoring and care. The beds are equipped to support invasive monitoring, medical infusions, and a 24-hour monitoring service, with specialised nurses with the knowledge and skills to deliver a more sophisticated level of care as required. 

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We’re looking for a highly organised and customer-focused Bookings Coordinator to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering parental leave. This is a varied and fast-paced role where you’ll be at the heart of our hospital operations, working closely with specialists, their support teams, hospital departments, patients and visitors to ensure the seamless coordination of patient bookings and admissions.

As one of the key points of contact, you'll play an important role in delivering an exceptional experience while keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. You’ll be responsible for coordinating operating theatre lists, communicating with surgeons and medical specialists, managing booking information, supporting patient admission planning, and providing high-quality administrative support across the hospital. No two days are the same, making this a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and staying one step ahead.

This is a part-time (0.7 FTE), on-site opportunity, working Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and alternate Fridays. Offering a great work-life balance, you'll work standard business hours.   • Proven experience in a customer service, administration or coordination role
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • A proactive, adaptable and team-focused approach
  • A professional and approachable manner when interacting with patients, visitors and medical professionals
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands and maintain attention to detail
  • Confidence working with systems and technology, particularly with Microsoft Office
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care and discretion
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality service
  • Previous experience working in a healthcare environment is desirable
