Our Hamilton hospital offers access to eight advanced operating theatres, as well as a purpose-built 6-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This ICU contains the very latest intensive care equipment and technology, providing nursing teams with the environment to support 24-hour monitoring and treatment.
Higher dependency nursing care
Supporting our developments in surgical services, a 6-bedded Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides services for higher-risk patients and for the increasing number of complex elective surgical procedures now performed in the private health sector. Our ICU is able to offer both higher dependency care and intensive care. The unit has been purpose built, and contains a 24-hour monitoring station, and advanced equipment, to ensure around-the-clock surveillance for higher dependency and critical care patients.
These facilities enable our highly experienced and well-trained intensive care nurses to work alongside surgeons, intensivists and anaesthetists to deliver the best possible post-operative care to patients in the region.
Modern facilities
In addition to a purpose-built ICU facility, we have invested in our superbly equipped operating theatres and related anaesthetic systems and technologies, and modern recovery and day stay facilities. Our surgical nursing teams are supported by advanced sterilisation systems, and patient facilities are constantly being updated to meet the needs of our patients.
