Adam Chen is a New Zealand–trained Otolaryngologist, Head and Neck Surgeon with subspecialty expertise in otology, hearing restoration, and cochlear implantation. After graduating from the University of Otago and completing advanced surgical training in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, he was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS).
Adam went on to complete a dedicated fellowship in lateral skull base and cochlear implant surgery in Christchurch, refining his expertise in complex ear disease, hearing preservation, and advanced implant techniques.
He is currently a consultant surgeon across Auckland City, Greenlane, North Shore, Waitākere, and Starship Hospitals, where he manages a wide spectrum of adult and paediatric ear disorders while maintaining a broad general ENT practice, including sinonasal and paediatric conditions.
In addition to his clinical practice, Adam has an ongoing interest in research and teaching, with publications in peer-reviewed journals and active involvement in registrar training and education. His practice is centred on providing patient-focused, evidence-based care and improving outcomes for patients with hearing loss.
