Dr Collins specialises in surgery for chronic otitis media (perforations), cholesteatoma, exostoses (swimmers ears) and hearing loss (stapedectomy, ossicular chain reconstruction and bone anchored hearing aids).

She has trained in the use of lasers and endoscopes in ear surgery.

She has published a number of peer reviewed research articles and has a particular interest in postgraduate training.

Professional Profile

Dr Collins graduated from St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School in London. She completed her ENT surgical training in the North-East of England in 2001.

In 2001, she underwent further specialized Fellowship training in Otology and Neuro-otology in Adelaide Australia, with Dr Michael Schultz.

Dr Collins was appointed as a Consultant Otologist to Salisbury and Southampton University Hospitals, UK in 2002 and developed a regional ear surgery practice there, including the Cleft Palate service and Bone Anchored Hearing Aid service.

Dr Collins moved to Auckland with her family in 2011 to help provide otology services to the population of Waitemata DHB. She spends one day a week at Waitakere Hospital.
