Sterile Services Technician Donna attends the World Federation Hospital Sterilisation Sciences conference
Donna, Sterile Services Technician and team leader, has just returned from the 24th annual World Federation Hospital Sterilisation Sciences conference in Belgium, and her mind is abuzz with inspiration!
Attending such a massive conference for the first time was truly eye-opening for her including the wealth of ideas and tools available for Sterile Service Departments and the innovative approaches to best practice.
The sustainability initiatives implemented by hospitals worldwide were particularly inspiring to Donna. Small actions can lead to significant impacts, and she was heartened to see the positive changes being made in the healthcare industry. Donna feels a deep sense of pride representing Southern Cross Christchurch Hospital, knowing that the hospital is actively contributing to the sustainability drive across the network.
For Donna, being part of Southern Cross Healthcare is not just a job; it's a commitment to making a difference in every patient's journey. The experience gained at the conference will undoubtedly enhance practices at Southern Cross, and Donna is eager to contribute to the continuous improvement of the healthcare services.
A big shoutout goes to the New Zealand Sterile Sciences Association for awarding Donna the scholarship that allowed her to be part of this transformative experience.
