Information for our younger patients
Hi! We're Stella and Tai. We've written a storybook, to explain to young patients what's likely to happen if you receive treatment at a Southern Cross hospital. We've also included some fun puzzles!
We encourage parents and carers to stay with their children in hospital. Please contact the hospital regarding availability of space and associated charges should you wish to stay overnight. If you would like to visit the hospital, to familiarise your child with the surroundings prior to admission, please contact the hospital.
Our pre-admission clinic
Our pre-admission service provides education and information to patients and their family/whanau on predicted outcomes of surgery, recovery expectations and encourages participation in care planning. We provide a nurse led preoperative assessment for patients to ensure they receive quality driven care which recognises individual needs, minimises risk of adverse outcomes and provides comprehensive discharge planning.
Our pre-admission clinic is based at 8 Caledonian Centre, St Albans, across the street from Southern Cross Christchurch Hospital.
Our Robotics
The global and local landscape of robotic navigation and assisted surgery has undergone rapid technical evolution. Robotics are tailored to enhance the performance and outcomes for surgeons and patients. We have worked closely in partnership with our credentialled medical practitioners to integrate this cutting-edge technology to ensure we deliver excellent experiences for both our surgeons and patients.
