Our Whakatauākī
Whakatauākī are typically a traditional proverb or saying, often passed down through generations, carrying wisdom or guidance, and usually used in a formal or poetic context. On the other hand, Whakatauākī are a more modern or adapted form of a proverb or saying, created to suit contemporary contexts like our and blending multiple ideas or values into a new form while still holding cultural significance.
We recognise and thank Conrad Waitoa, cultural strategist and advisor from īAko Māori Limited, who composed our organisational Whakatauākī. His work reflects the mauri of our values journey and strengthens our commitment to te Tirit o Waitangi.
