Welcome to Southern Cross Rotorua Hospital

Southern Cross Rotorua Hospital is a modern surgical hospital serving the local community and greater Bay of Plenty region.

Recent programmes of modernisation and facility upgrades have helped our hospital to offer a wide range of services including orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, otolaryngology, plastic surgery, oral and gynaecological surgery, as well as gastroenterology and endoscopy. The hospital features not only three hi-tech theatres and robotics but also a modern theatre sterilisation systems unit, 22 in-patient beds, and a day-stay facility for patients whose procedures are completed without the need for an overnight stay.

Other services on the Southern Cross Rotorua Hospital campus include TBI Health, experts in physiotherapy, rehabilitation, pain and injury management; and a team of radiation oncologists and specialist nurses from the Kathleen Kilgour Centre providing medical and radiation oncology.

Information for our younger patients

Hi! We're Stella and Tai. We've written a storybook, to explain to young patients what's likely to happen if you receive treatment at a Southern Cross hospital. We've also included some fun puzzles!

We encourage parents and carers to stay with their children in hospital. Please contact the hospital regarding availability of space and associated charges should you wish to stay overnight. If you would like to visit the hospital, to familiarise your child with the surroundings prior to admission, please contact the hospital.

TBI Health physiotherapy

TBI Health provide both inpatient and outpatient physiotherapy services and are conveniently located on the premises of the Southern Cross Rotorua Hospital campus. TBI Health is a joint venture partner with Southern Cross Healthcare.
