Specialist centres & related health providers
Specialist centres & related health providers
We may draw on the expertise of specialist providers and healthcare professionals to support independent credentialled practitioners operating at the hospital. We currently have imaging facilities on our site as well as consulting rooms used by independent credentialled practitioners offering orthopaedic services and oncology services.
Oncology services
Southern Cross' hospital in Rotorua has partnered with private oncologists, including a team of radiation oncologists from the Kathleen Kilgour Centre in Tauranga and specialist nurses to provide medical and radiation oncology services. This is the first wholly-owned hospital within the Southern Cross network to offer a full oncology service, in partnership with allied health professionals.
The medical oncology clinics, chemotherapy and immune therapy will be provided from the hospital. Radiotherapy clinics and treatment will initially be provided at the Kathleen Kilgour Centre in Tauranga, with the clinics (only) moving to Southern Cross Hospital Rotorua early in 2017.
TRG Imaging
TRG Imaging is a leading provider of diagnostic imaging services and offers a wide range of diagnostic services, including X-ray, CT, MRI and ultrasound within a caring and professional environment.
Other related health providers
Our Rotorua hospital draws on the skills and expertise of related health providers in a range of areas to ensure that credentialled practitioners and their patients have access to the services they need.
This can include services like radiology, and a range of laboratory services delivered by specialists within the region. Blood supply services (NZ Blood Service) are accessible within our hospitals, where required. Other services, such as cardiologist consultations and other patient checks and diagnostics, may be provided by third parties visiting our various hospital facilities.
