Joe specialises in head and neck cancer, thyroid surgery, salivary gland surgery, sinus and nasal surgery, as well as complex facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. Joe’s training included subspecialty advanced head and neck surgery training with a year-long fellowship at Yale University, being the first surgeon from the southern hemisphere to do so. Joe also works at Auckland City Hospital where he is actively involved in training junior surgeons as the ORL-HNS trainee registrar supervisor and in research as a senior lecturer at Auckland University.
