Professional Profile
I am a New Zealand trained specialist General and Colorectal surgeon and endoscopist. I have a focus on minimally invasive surgical techniques (laparoscopy), and strongly believe in enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) principles.
After completing advanced general surgical training throughout New Zealand, I completed two years of post-fellowship colorectal training. I spent a year at Auckland City hospital with a focus on minimally invasive colorectal surgery, pelvic floor disorders, intestinal failure/nutrition and enhanced recovery after surgery. I undertook a second fellowship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane performing large-volume minimally invasive colorectal resections, managing patients with complex inflammatory bowel disease, and peritoneal malignancy including cyto-reductive surgery.
I have a public appointment at Wellington Hospital as a General and Colorectal surgeon and I am locally credentialed to perform National Bowel Screening Program colonoscopy.
I offer a patient-centered approach to the assessment and management of all general surgical conditions, and ensure patients have an understanding of their condition and treatment rationale.
