Information for our younger patients
Staying with your child
We know how important it is for children to have familiar faces nearby while they’re in hospital. Parents and carers are encouraged to stay with their child during their hospital visit. If you would like to stay overnight, please contact the hospital to check availability and any associated charges.
Families are also welcome to arrange a pre-admission visit, so your child can see the hospital and feel more comfortable before their treatment. Simply get in touch with our team to organise this.

We’ve created a child-friendly FAQ booklet that answers common questions children often have about coming to hospital and receiving treatment.
A story to help explain what will happen
To help young patients understand what to expect, we’ve written a storybook just for kids. It gently explains what might happen during treatment and includes fun puzzles and activities to keep curious minds entertained along the way.
Our Robotics
The global and local landscape of robotic navigation and assisted surgery has undergone rapid technical evolution. Robotics are tailored to enhance the performance and outcomes for surgeons and patients. We have worked closely in partnership with our credentialled medical practitioners to integrate this cutting-edge technology to ensure we deliver excellent experiences for both our surgeons and patients.

Southern Cross Wellington Specialist Centre
Our multi-disciplinary specialist centre adjoins our private surgical hospital and was originally opened in 1998. It features consulting rooms and day procedure facilities for use by credentialled medical practitioners.
