Professional Profile
I graduated from Auckland University and trained in Surgery in Wellington. I spent three years in Britain for post-fellowship training.
I began my consultant practice in Wellington in 1991 and was the first surgeon in Wellington to perform the majority of the laparoscopic procedures performed today, evenincluding appendicectomy. I was the first surgeon in Wellington to provide a private colonoscopy service.
I always try and make myself available for urgent consultations and GPs can arrange urgent gastropies and colonoscopies, simply with a call to my cellphone.
I also believe in allowing plenty of time with my patients to ensure they understand their condition and the procedure I am going to perform. I believe in making myself readily available postoperatively and encourage patients to ring me with any concerns.
