Professional Profile
Nadia is a highly experienced Genetic Counsellor with more than 10 years of clinical practice, supporting individuals and families as they navigate important healthcare decisions. She provides comprehensive care throughout the entire genetic testing journey, including family history assessment, genetic risk evaluation, pre- and posttest counselling, informed consent, ordering testing, interpretation of results, personalised advice, and referral to other healthcare specialists where clinically appropriate.
Originally from Pōneke (Wellington), Nadia completed her clinical training in France before gaining extensive experience across France, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. During her time overseas, Nadia led specialist hereditary breast and bowel cancer clinics.
Nadia is passionate about delivering genetic testing to patients who may not be eligible for publicly funded services and who are seeking timely access to genetic testing. Her practice is evidence-based and patient-centred.
Nadia works in public practice at Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora, as well as consulting privately at the Southern Cross Specialist Centre on the Southern Cross Wellington Hospital campus.
Nadia is a Fellow of the Human Genetics Society of Australasia, an Australasian Registered Genetic Counsellor, and a European Board of Medical Genetics Registered Genetic Counsellor. She has also authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications in the field of genetics.
