Dr Amit Reddy is a New Zealand trained specialist General and Colorectal surgeon and Endoscopist. Amit has a focus on minimally invasive surgical techniques (laparoscopy), and strongly believes in enhanced recovery after surgery principles.
 
Amit obtained his medical degree from the University of Otago in 2007 and completed his advanced general surgical training with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in New Zealand in 2015.  He then undertook two further years of post-fellowship colorectal surgical training at Auckland City hospital and the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane before returning to Wellington where he has an appointment at Wellington Regional Hospital as a Consultant General and Colorectal surgeon. Amit is locally credentialed to perform National Bowel Screening Program colonoscopy.
 
Amit focuses on a patient-centred approach to the assessment and management of all general surgical conditions, and ensures patients have a good understanding of their condition and treatment options and delivers prompt direct patient support. Amit’s emphasis on a minimally invasive approach aims to minimise patient impact, quicken recovery and lead to excellent outcomes.
